Craving Change in 2022?
Updated: Mar 13, 2022

As we enter 2022, many may find themselves pursuing improved overall health. For the last decade I have been advocating to ditch trendy dieting methodologies, instead prioritizing our individual health. As the adage goes, 'Health is Wealth', an individual can best enjoy the virtues of life if they are physically, mentally and spiritually well.
“Obesity, heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease and dementia are all now considered diet-related diseases, and sub-optimal nutrition is emerging as a leading cause of poor health.”

Our dietary habits profoundly contribute to our overall physical and mental wellbeing. What we choose to eat can be a form of nutritional dietary medicine or a slow form of intoxication. What we choose to consume or in many circumstances avoid consuming contributes to building a stronger more resilient immune system, not to mention significantly aids towards the prevention of inflammation. Whether it’s the common cold, or a bullet wound and everything in-between our overall state of wellness going into an infection or illness plays a profound role in our ability to recover and the rapidness of recovery.
“A well-primed immune response depends on good nutrition to function, and malnutrition is known to increase susceptibility to infections. In turn, infection can aggravate malnutrition, since it increases the body’s demand for nutrients. This creates a viscous cycle, further increasing vulnerability to infection.”

“Fresh starts increase your motivation to change because they give you either a real clean slate or the impression of one; they regulate your setbacks more clearly to the past: and they boost your optimism about the future. They can also disrupt bad habits and lead you to think bigger picture about your life.”
